Trees are Fall'n

Construction on our new flying site at Chatham Park commenced this week. The contractor has been busy mowing and raking the area for the runway and doing some grading of the access road. Today, with the able assistance of Robert Sears, William White, Zalman Joffee, Chris Bugge, Alberto Scotti, and myself, three of the five trees slated for removal were felled and removed from the site. The two remaining trees are in or on the edge of the runway, and the contractor will be pushing them over with a dozer tomorrow, Saturday. This technique is being used so we may remove the root ball from the ground and not have a stump left in the runway. If anyone is available to help with the cut up and clean up tomorrow, it would be greatly appreciated.

Keep an eye on the News Page of this site for further developments on the flying field. Weather permitting, we hope to be operational before the end of March.
